Since 2002, we have planted more than 7,000 native trees and are carbon neutral.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><h2 class=\"w-text us_custom_e79dbb7f has_text_color align_left\"><span class=\"w-text-h\"><span class=\"w-text-value\">What Makes Organic Coffee Different?<\/span><\/span><\/h2><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>We are a certified organic coffee farm and which does not use agro-chemicals, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides, preferring to apply the rich compost from our red worm beds and from the organic refuse from the hotel which we compost.<\/p>\n<p>We apply only natural remedies for the fungus and pests which can plague coffee. Our coffee is certified organic by the Kiwa BCS Garantie, an international organic agriculture certification and is certified sustainable by Rainforest Alliance and ICAFE, the Costa Rica National Institute for Coffee.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><h2 class=\"w-text us_custom_e79dbb7f has_text_color align_left\"><span class=\"w-text-h\"><span class=\"w-text-value\">Socio-Economic Community Involvement<\/span><\/span><\/h2><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>We believe that we are intrinsically tied to the community where we live and work. 100% of our employees are from our area and we work closely in our barrio on solutions for recycling, water quality and health. We also seek, support and purchase products from our senior citizens and artisans, and have been supporting the Children&#8217;s Food Bank for 20 years.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><h2 class=\"w-text us_custom_e79dbb7f has_text_color align_left\"><span class=\"w-text-h\"><span class=\"w-text-value\">Education and Training<\/span><\/span><\/h2><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>Our guests on the Coffee Tour enjoy authentic experiences with some of the best guides and interpretation you&#8217;ll find anywhere in the world.
